    TRUCKEE MEADOWS CITIZEN'S POLICE ACADEMY
    Call (775) 353-2297
    Officer Sgt Mike McCreary

The Sparks Police Department in conjunction with the Reno Police Department and the Washoe County Sheriff's Office work together to put on the Truckee Meadows Citizen's Police Academy.

This is a good way to get to know what a police officer and other members that make up a police department do on a daily basis, what some of the training requirements are and what resources are available to assist each agency.

An application can be picked up at the Front Desk of the Sparks Police Department located at 1701 E. Prater Way. Candidates are required to pass a brief criminal background investigation before being accepted to the Academy. Any questions should be directed to Sgt Mike McCreary at 353-2297.

Some examples of courses that make up an Academy are listed below.
