The Area Law Enforcement and Retailers Team (ALERT) is a program that was developed by the Sparks Police Department to help coordinate prevention efforts and increase communication between the local retailers and the Police Department. This program began with three local retailers and has grown into a regional team with over 230 retailers participating. This team has increased networking not only with the Police Department but with the Loss Prevention/Asset Protection departments of retailers within the Truckee Meadows. This networking has assisted the Police Department in identifying and arresting criminal offenders operating within our city. This program is specifically for the retail business only.
