The Neighborhood Watch Program is a nationally recognized program sponsored by the National Sheriff’s Association through a grant from the Bureau of Justice Assistance within the Department of Justice.  Neighborhood Watch is a crime prevention program that stresses education and community partnership with the Police Department. It teaches citizens how to help themselves and their neighbors by developing a social network and promoting a sense of “watching out for each other.” Neighborhood Watch groups typically focus on observation and notification as a means of crime prevention and community involvement. The Sparks Police Department needs more citizens involved in these groups to help us protect our citizens. For more information, contact Officer Alex Mendoza.
