The Sparks Police Department provides two officers to the regional Consolidated Bomb Squad. This team responds to reports of found explosives, suspicious devices and other hazardous situations involving explosive materials. The Consolidated Bomb Squad also completes pre-event sweeps for dignitary visits to northern Nevada.
