The Sparks Police Department assigns two police officers to the Regional Gang Unit. The Regional Gang Unit is comprised of officers from the Reno Police Department, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, Sparks Police Department and Washoe County School District Police Department. The Regional Gang Unit gathers intelligence on and responds to situations resulting from the activities of illegal gangs. They also provide investigative assistance to local Detective Divisions with felony follow-up to gang related crimes.
